Heads & Tails

Flip a coin 100 times. Roughly fifty-fifty — but never exactly.

Flip a coin 100 times. Tally heads and tails. You expect 50/50 — but you almost never get exactly 50/50. Why?

Goal: 50% heads, exactly. The more flips, the closer you get.

Streaks happen

In 100 flips, runs of 5 or 6 in a row are almost guaranteed. Our brains see streaks as 'unfair' — but they're statistically inevitable.

1000 flips usually settles within ±2% of 50/50. The more trials, the closer you get. That's the law of large numbers, in action.
