What we collect, why, and how to opt out. Plain English, no dark patterns.

Last updated: 12 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Math Playground (the “Site”, available at https://math.calcstack.co) handles information when you visit. By using the Site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Math Playground is a personal educational website operated by Awais Shah (“we”, “us”). Contact: m.awaisshah228@gmail.com (see also our Contact page).

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply.
  • Automatically collected, non-personal data. Like most sites, our hosting provider and analytics tools record standard technical information — pages visited, approximate region (from IP), browser type, device type, referring site, and timestamps. This is used in aggregate to understand what's popular and to keep the Site working.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See the dedicated section below and our Cookie Policy.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children (see Section 8).

3. Cookies & tracking technologies

A cookie is a small file a site can store in your browser. We and our third-party partners use cookies (and similar storage) to:

  • remember basic preferences (e.g. light/dark theme);
  • measure traffic so we can improve the Site (analytics);
  • serve and measure advertising, where shown.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect parts of the Site. Full details, including the categories of cookies, are in our Cookie Policy.

4. Analytics

We use privacy-aware analytics (such as Vercel Analytics) to count visits and see which pages are useful. These tools report aggregated statistics; we do not use them to build a profile of you or to identify individual visitors.

5. Advertising — Google AdSense & third-party vendors

The Site may display advertisements supplied by Google AdSense and other third-party ad networks. To do this:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites.
  • Third-party networks may also use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of ads and to deliver ads relevant to your interests.

You can control or opt out of personalised advertising:

If you are in the EEA, UK or another region requiring it, a consent banner will ask for your permission before non-essential advertising and analytics cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

In short

We don't sell your data. Ads and analytics on this Site use cookies; you can opt out of personalised ads with the links above, or block cookies in your browser.

6. How we use information

  • to operate, maintain and improve the Site;
  • to respond to messages you send us;
  • to display and measure advertising (where shown);
  • to keep the Site secure and detect abuse;
  • to comply with legal obligations.

7. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share data only with: (a) service providers who run the Site for us (hosting, analytics, advertising) under their own privacy terms; and (b) authorities, if required by law.

8. Children

The Site is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. We aim for advertising on the Site to be non-personalised where required for child-directed treatment.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to opt out of “sales” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise any of these, email m.awaisshah228@gmail.com.

10. Data retention & security

We keep emails you send only as long as needed to handle your request. Aggregated analytics are retained per our providers' standard periods. We use reasonable technical measures to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are in place.

12. Third-party links

The Site links to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — please review their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
