Corresponding angles
Two parallel lines crossed by a transversal — matching corners are equal.
When a transversal crosses two parallel lines, corresponding angles are in the same position at each intersection — and they're equal.
If corresponding angles are equal, the two lines must be parallel. (Converse is true.)
